UT Group presents STEM event for elementary and middle school students

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Elementary and middle school students will be on the University of Texas at Austin campus Saturday for hands-on instruction in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Women in STEM (WiSTEM) presents the annual STEM Girl Day at UT from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m

According to the school, the event provides students, families and educators the opportunity to explore STEM fields with the help of volunteers, including scientists, engineers, astronomers, mathematicians and others.

The school said the events would include:

• STEM shows
• Cybersecurity games
• Catapult construction
• Discover supercomputers
• Solar telescope observation
• Tiny House 3D Designs
• Bracelet making with binary codes
• Mathematical magic tricks
