‘New text-to-video generator Sora to be released later this year’
OpenAI recently unveiled Sora, its latest AI-powered text-to-video generator platform, which has garnered both excitement and apprehension. This innovative tool operates similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT but produces high-quality videos instead of text responses. In a video shared on OpenAI’s YouTube channel, Sora’s capabilities are showcased, with some examples appearing indistinguishable from footage captured with a real camera.
Despite the impressive realism, closer examination reveals tell-tale signs of AI-generated content, such as physics-based movements. OpenAI is currently rigorously testing Sora to address these issues before its anticipated release to the public. The process involves pushing the AI model to its limits to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities.
Mira Murati, OpenAI’s chief technology officer, recently spoke with the Wall Street Journal, confirming that Sora is scheduled for release later this year. As the team continues to fine-tune the platform, expectations are high for Sora’s impact in the realm of AI-generated video content.
