I’ve had a somewhat unobtrusive, very small, and colorless mole on my face since I was a teenager, and never really considered removing it in spite of the fact that it regularly sprouted a small white hair that I had to regularly pluck. I grew so used to this routine that it never occurred to me to simply have it removed once and for all. But… as part of a “new year/no fear” mantra, in which I attempt to wipe away everything that’s unnecessarily tiresome in my life during the Year of the Dragon, I decided the mole had to go.

Moles can be cancerous or benign. Most moles are benign and no treatment is necessary, but some benign moles may develop into skin cancer/melanoma, so it’s good to have them regularly checked (warning signs are here). You are in good hands with Dr. Henry, who embraces a holistic approach to care, and treats patients with genuine warmth and benevolence.

The mole removal process was professional, painless, and quick. It did leave a bright red spot on my face for a few days, which slowly began to fade away and will eventually be unnoticeable. For the first days, all I had to do was occasionally apply Aquaphor to the spot. So if you have a mole or three to have checked or removed, I highly recommend heading to this midtown practice and having Dr. Henry tend to it.
