One of Roland Berger’s more senior partners in Europe – Tobias Schönberg – has joined the Middle East team, relocating from his native Germany.
A two decade veteran of the global strategy consulting firm, Tobias Schönberg has been with Roland Berger since 2001. Working from the firm’s Berlin office, he grew the ranks to partner and later on senior partner (appointed in 2017 – the year Roland Berger celebrated its 50th anniversary), as well as serving as Co-Head of the firm’s Berlin office.
A member of the firm’s Transportation practice, Schönberg advises clients across all segments of the transportation industry – travel, tourism, logistics, and infrastructure – on topics including strategy development, business planning, transformation, marketing and digital-led innovation.
Schönberg now will put this expertise to practice to support the firm’s growing Middle East team. “The whole team in the Middle East is very excited that Tobias is joining,” admitted Rene Seyger, a Dutchman who relocated to the region in 2018 to assume the role of Managing Partner Middle East.
“It is not just his expertise in the travel, tourist and logistic sectors that are crucial to further accelerating the development in the region. It is also the fact that he has been in the company for a long time. The deep understanding of the firm and his involvement in regional projects over the last years speak for itself: he’s the perfect person to join our Middle East team,” he added.
Schönberg added, “Especially in the last five years I was regularly involved in projects across the Middle East. I have already met a lot of colleagues through these projects and I’m looking forward to become part of the family.”
“The Middle East firm combines the strategic capability and think-tank capacity of our global consulting heritage with the agility of a startup in terms of innovative thinking and execution, in supporting our clients and fostering the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the region.”
