PRWIRE: Dubai, UAE, 18 September 2019: Nord Anglia International School Dubai (NAS Dubai) part of the global Nord Anglia Education family of schools, has announced the appointment of Christine Walker as the new Head of Primary. Beginning a career in education at the age of 18 years, Christine is a seasoned leader in the field of education with an experience of 42 years.
After graduating from Archbishop Grimshaw School, Christine went on to completing a bachelors in Education from Newman University College. She then worked in various settings, both Primary and Secondary for 24 years, moving on to working as a class teacher at Christ the King School where she got promoted to Deputy Headteacher in a short span of one year.
Christine then moved on to her role as Headteacher at St Mark’s Catholic Primary School in Birmingham where she was responsible for overall leadership and management of the school, leading governors and colleagues in the development of strategy, policy and development plans. She was then promoted to the role of Executive Headteacher of St Marks Catholic Primary School in Birmingham and Holy Name Catholic Primary School in Sandwell where she was heading a total of 510 student. Her achievements in the role include maintaining the ‘Outstanding’ status of St Mark’s School and Leading on restructure and development of Holy Name School to make the school an ideal setting for the appointment of a substantive Headteacher.
In 2013, Christine shifted base to the Middle East with her role as Senior Vice Principal at Doha college in Qatar where she led 1000 students in the primary section. Her key responsibilities in her role at the British curriculum school included strategic planning for primary school, line management of senior and middle staff and more. Being a member of the College Leadership team, her achievements include, opening of a new primary setting, development and implementation of high performance learning within the primary setting, staff restructure and supporting succession planning and the completion of educational and inspection trainings.
She eventually moved on to freelance as a leadership consultant and support various schools in development and training. Being appointed in her current role, Christine Walker, Head of Primary, Nord Anglia International School Dubai commented, “I am very excited to be part of the prestigious Nord Anglia Education family and am looking forward to leading young students to academic and extra-curricular success.
