Kuwait Finance House (KFH) continues its efforts in supporting the activities of the “Be Aware” Diraya banking awareness campaign, launched by Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and Kuwait Banking Association (KBA), with the aim of spreading financial education in society and protecting customers’ rights.
Group General Manager Retail Banking at KFH, Khaled Yousif Alshamlan emphasized the importance of benefiting from banks’ services, educating customers about their rights, and providing services for special needs customers. He underlined the role of banks as financial intermediaries, the importance of investment and saving, the mechanism of submitting complaints about banking services, different banking cards as well as major steps to avoid frauds and other topics.
Alshamlan added, in a press release, that the “Be aware” campaign contributes to enhancing financial inclusion and economic stability, which are very important elements for achieving sustainable development.
He said: ” due to development of e-banking transactions and digital activity and higher online penetration, I stress on the importance of cybersecurity and continuous customer awareness of potential risk of e-crimes through different means and learning about the main steps that should be taken to avoid fraud and increase society`s financial awareness.
Alshamlan pointed out that KFH harnesses all communication channels with customers to ensure the success of the ” Be Aware” campaign and achieve the desired goals. This includes the bank’s social media channels, the bank’s website, ATM screens, display screens in branches, as well as through newspapers, televisions and other Media outlets, by publishing videos, educational materials and awareness messages, with the aim of ensuring awareness-raising among the largest segment of the public so that they are sufficiently aware of financial and banking transactions.
Alshamlan affirmed KFH’s support for the efforts of Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and Kuwait Banking Association (KBA), in the “Be Aware” campaign, which will continue throughout the year, indicating that this comes within the framework of social responsibility and the pursuit of creating a safe and conducive environment to achieve sustainable development.
