IKEA’s family-centred approach aims to please every home (and every taste) – a challenging task when dealing with a predominantly expat community like the UAE. So, what’s guaranteed to please everyone? Friends, obvs (disagree with us, we dare you).
IKEA’s Real-Life Series recreated rooms from iconic television shows Stranger Things, Friends and The Simpsons, to demonstrate the variety of ways IKEA’s furniture can be used. The most recognisable living rooms in television were replicated using only IKEA furniture – a process that took two months and thousands of items. Like the shows they chose, “IKEA appeals to the many, regardless of their background”, says IKEA Managing Director Vinod Jayan.
IKEA is currently in the midst of a digital transformation, and is focussed on creating seamless digital experiences through a new website with more content and features – including one where users can find #interiorinspo from existing rooms.
If you’ve always wanted a photo under the Stranger Things twinkling lights, the rooms will be replicated IRL in IKEAs across the Middle East.
