Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) only issues licenses for personal electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, until the related agencies finish the necessary infrastructure and construction regulations, Al-Eqtisadiah reported.
SASO has conducted thorough studies concerning EV specifications and charging systems, with a special focus on high-standard plugging and power input.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Schneider Electric installed in October 2018 the first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Diyar Al Salam project in Jeddah.
Early this year, the global specialist in energy management and automation said it expects to install five EV charging stations in Saudi Arabia in 2019.
